A Cardiologist Shares The Recipe For The Only Bread Which You Can Eat As Much As You Like

Cardinal Steven Gandry from Nebraska wrote the book Paradox of Plants, and believes that there is one particular bread you can eat without feeling guilty. Believe it or not, this bread does not contain cereals. According to Dr. Gandry, it is “almost bread.” No wheat, no yeast, no gluten, and it looks like the perfect bun.
What are the main ingredients? You will need egg whites, coconut oi, sweet potato flour, coconut flour, hazelnut flour, almonds and a few great ingredients. A single slice of this bread has 90 calories. Dr. Gandry made the recipe, and he will not say more about it. However, he does admit that this bread is actually part of a paleo diet that offers other recipes with similar ingredients. Feel free to make your own version.
- 2 cups almond flour
- 1 tbsp whole flaxseed
- 1/3 cups + 1 tablespoon of ground flax seed
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp baking soda
- ½ cup cornstarch
- 6 tbsp butter
- 4 eggs
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- ½ cup Greek yoghurt
Mix the dry ingredients and the flax seeds in a bowl. Melt your butter over medium heat, and let it cool for about 5 minutes. Add the wet ingredients t your dry ingredients, and mix well using a spatula. You should get a dough-like mixture. Do not over mix it because it will be too thick and firm.
Transfer the dough onto a baking pan that you have covered it with baking paper. Sprinkle it with flaxseed for better appearance, and bake at 175 degrees for 25 minutes. Use a toothpick to see if it is ready.
The bread should cool down. Feel free to cut it into slices, and enjoy. Wrap it in a towel, and keep it in a Ziplock back to preserve its freshness.
